Regent

A regent is the primary ruler of a keep and a former hero, ruling together with a partner. Appointing a regent as a hero will retire them from combat permanently, but will allow them to have children.

There is one exception: Regents and partners will take part in defending a keep from the encroaching enemy. Obviously, if they fall in combat, the regent will no longer be available, due to being six feet under.
