If this isn't the case, the "Benefits by Disease" is only possible if the Health Vial research was complete at the time the quarantine choice is made. If it isn't, the "Too Late" has a 40% chance of happening instead of 20%.

When choosing to allowing the hero to continue his or her duties, the "Broken Through" outcome is guaranteed if the hero's natural lifespan was the end in the random 5 to 20 year time period.

Quarantine!

patient name has contracted a disease that the Capital doctors have never seen before! They're calling it Bumbosis. The symptoms aren't too severe, but they're recommending a quarantine because that could easily change and because it will take at least 10 years of study to figure out a cure. What do you do?

  • Quarantine patient first name immediately! We can't risk it spreading, whatever it is.
  • Let patient first name resume their duties. We can't afford to wait that long and maybe the disease will leave on its own.
  • Put patient first name in the Chalice and see what happens.

For Your Health

patient name has been placed in quarantine.

The hero will be unavailable for 10 to 15 years, after which one of the following will occur.

Outcomes[ | ]

There are five possible outcomes. How likely each is depends on a couple of factors:

  • If the hero's natural lifespan was to end during the 10 to 15 year period, the "Too Late" outcome is guaranteed to happen at that time. No other outcomes are possible in this case.
  • If the Health Vial research was not complete at the time the quarantine choice was made, the "Benefits by Disease" outcome is not possible. Instead, the odds of the "Too Late" outcome are doubled to 40% while the remaining outcomes have a 20% chance each.
  • If the Health Vial research is complete at the time the choice is made, all outcomes are equally likely.
